Coffee table.
A West Coast sawmiller came in one day with a flitch and a couple of pieces of 4x2. He had that wood stored under his house for years and wanted to get something made out of it.
He asked me to design a coffee table with a difference. The timber was very special to him and brought back memories. I came up with an almost Japanese looking design, which concentrates on the simplicity and on the actual construction to highlight the beauty of the silver beech bur wood.
To finish I used a natural oil rubbed finish.
